Cube Plus 101: Your Questions, Answered
At Carepod, we were excited to recently announce the launch of our premium Cube Plus humidifier in the United States.
Engineered in Korea with health and safety in mind, Cube Plus is the latest addition to our popular ultrasonic stainless steel humidifier line.
We gathered a few of the most frequently asked questions from those curious about our newest humidifier, and decided to answer them here for you!
What’s the difference between Carepod Cube and Carepod Cube Plus?
The new Cube Plus maintains the same sleek, award-winning design as the original Cube model, but with a set of new features.
New Feature #1: One-Touch Sanitization for Peace of Mind
With a single touch, you can schedule a patented process which heats the water to a temperature of 158° F during a 2-hour cycle to eliminate harmful bacteria within the water tank. This feature can be used as often as you like, allowing for greater peace of mind in-between deeper cleanings.
New Feature #2: Auto-Humidity Option for Perfectly Hydrated Air
In addition to its unique sanitization capabilities, Cube Plus is the first in Carepod’s lineup to feature an auto-humidity feature.
This new function continuously adapts to the room’s conditions to maintain the optimal humidity levels between 40% to 60%, offering true “set it and forget it” convenience.
New Feature #3: Night Mode Setting for Peaceful Rest
Cube Plus is also the first of our models with the highly requested night mode setting. This completely turns off any LED display lights for a darker, more restful environment — perfect for even the lightest of sleepers.
How do I use the Auto-Humidity feature?
Dry indoor air can further irritate sore throats, sinuses, and itchy skin, especially when sick or dealing with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions.
Keeping your room perfectly hydrated, however, is easy with Carepod Cube Plus’ Auto-Humidity mode. With this feature, the humidifier’s mist will run continuously, switching off once the room reaches 40%-60% relative humidity.
To turn Auto-Humidity on:
- Each button tap will cycle to the next mist intensity level.
- Tap the button until all three lights in a row are active.
- Mist at level 2 intensity will now continuously run.
- You’ve successfully turned on Auto-Humidity mode.
Note: Humidity readings come from the built-in hygrometer and may vary based on Carepod's location in the room.
If you prefer to set the intensity level yourself, you can turn Auto-Humidity off by tapping to change the intensity.
How does the Sanitize feature work?
The Cube Plus features a built-in, patented self-sanitization system using the pasteurization method, effectively eliminating 99.9% of harmful germs and bacteria.
This industry-first technology heats water to 158°F during a 2-hour cycle to safely sanitize, preventing the growth of bacteria. The device’s interior is lined with high-conductivity materials to ensure thorough sanitization of the water tank, making it an ideal solution for combating dry indoor air.
How Often Should I Sanitize?
We recommend using the sanitize feature every few days or as needed, in between deep cleanings every 1-2 weeks. Regular sanitization helps maintain the Cube Plus's performance and hygiene.
Important Safety Tips
During sanitization, the water can get very hot, so always allow the unit to cool down before handling the tank or adding fresh water.
How do I clean the Cube Plus?
The Carepod Cube Plus is engineered with convenience in mind, featuring a dishwasher-safe stainless steel water tank that’s free from hidden nooks or crannies, making it incredibly easy to clean. Here’s how to maintain it for optimal performance:
Handwashing Your Cube Plus
To gently handwash your Carepod, follow these steps:
- Remove the wand, water tank, and inner lid cover.
- Handwash the stainless steel water tank and inner lid cover using dish soap and water.
- When cleaning the wand, wash only the bottom half, making sure to avoid getting the electric plug wet. Use a soft sponge or toothbrush to clean it carefully.
Tip: Avoid using too much pressure or abrasive scrubbers to prevent damage to the wand.
Sterilizing Your Cube Plus
For deeper cleaning, you can sterilize your Cube Plus:
- Remove the water tank and inner lid cover.
- Place the inner lid cover inside the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with water and bring it to a boil on medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Optionally, dip the bottom half of the wand into boiling water for a few seconds to sanitize.
- Allow all parts to cool and fully dry before reassembling.
Note: If using a gas stove, be cautious with high heat to avoid leaving flame marks on the water tank.
Do I still need to clean my Cube Plus if I’ve used the sanitization feature?
Yes! Even though the sanitization feature eliminates most germs and bacteria, we recommend handwashing or sterilizing your Carepod every 1-2 weeks to maintain optimal performance.
Sanitization focuses on internal cleanliness but regular handwashing or sterilization helps remove any buildup in the tank or wand that might affect the humidifier's efficiency.
